What This Tool Does
This tool merges two or more ZIP archives into a single ZIP file. Every entry from every input archive is copied into one combined archive, which is handy for consolidating a scattered set of uploads into one deliverable.
When two archives contain a file with the same name, the first archive keeps the original name and later copies are renamed with a numeric suffix. The response shows exactly how each collision was resolved, so nothing is silently overwritten.
How It Works
Each input ZIP is opened, its entries are read and copied into a fresh output archive, and a running record of renames is kept. The output is then reopened to confirm the entry count matches, and only a verified archive is offered for download.
Step by Step
- 1
Upload at least two ZIP files.
- 2
Optionally give the merged archive a name.
- 3
Click Merge ZIP Files.
- 4
Download the combined ZIP and review the collision report.
Collision Handling
- First occurrence keeps its original path inside the merged archive.
- Duplicates become file(2), file(3) and so on, in the order the archives were uploaded.
- The merge report lists every archive that was combined.
Troubleshooting
- You must upload at least two ZIP archives; a single file triggers a clear message.
- Files that are not readable ZIPs are rejected because a merge must read real archives.
- Encrypted entries cannot be merged without the password.
