What This Tool Does

This tool divides a ZIP file into several smaller parts by exact byte count, so each part fits comfortably within an attachment or file-host limit. You pick a part size such as 10 MB or 50 MB, the file is cut at precise boundaries, and every part is offered as a separate download.

The pieces are numbered in order and can be reassembled by simply concatenating their bytes. The tool tells you the exact order, so the original ZIP is recovered without any data loss.

How It Works

The ZIP is read sequentially and written into part files of the requested size. The final part holds the remainder and carries the .zip extension. Reassembly is straightforward: append the bytes of part 1, part 2, and so on in order to produce the original ZIP, which is why ordering matters.

Step by Step

  1. 1

Upload the ZIP you want to split.

  2. 2

Choose the part size that fits your destination.

  3. 3

    Click Split ZIP.

  4. 4

Download every part in order and reassemble them when needed.

Reassembly Warnings

  • Parts must be concatenated in numeric order. Reordering them corrupts the archive.
  • The last part (.zip) is the final chunk; place it at the end.
  • Concatenate the exact downloaded files without removing any bytes.

Troubleshooting

  • Part size choices range from 5 MB up to 100 MB.
  • Your receiver must have all parts; a single missing part breaks the archive.
  • On Windows you can reassemble with a simple copy command over all parts in order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does splitting change the ZIP contents?
No. The bytes are divided exactly; reassembling the parts reproduces the original ZIP byte for byte.
How do I recombine the parts on Windows?
Use the copy command with /b with the parts listed in order into the output ZIP file.
How many parts will I get?
The number depends on the file size and the part size you choose; the page shows each part with its own download button.
Can I split a ZIP smaller than one part?
If the file is smaller than the chosen part size, only a single part is produced.
Is this the same as multi-volume ZIP?
It is a byte-based split, similar in spirit but without packing headers. The result reassembles to the exact original ZIP.
