What This Tool Does
This tool performs an integrity check on an archive: it validates the archive structure and reads every entry to confirm it decompresses cleanly. It covers the same family of formats as the tester, plus ZIP-based app packages.
A green verdict means the archive opens fully and every entry is readable today. Anything else is reported honestly with the offending entries named.
What the Report Shows
- Format detected and integrity verdict.
- Entries opened successfully versus entries failed.
- Structural issues such as truncated headers or bad entries called out.
- A recommendations block pointing to repair or conversion when damage is found.
Step by Step
- 1
Upload the archive.
- 2
Click Check Integrity.
- 3
Wait for the full read pass.
- 4
Read the verdict and any recommendations.
How the Check Works
The format is identified from the file data, then the appropriate engine opens the archive with integrity verification enabled. Every entry is decompressed and compared against its recorded metadata, defaulting to strict checks that fail rather than silently returning partial data.
Troubleshooting
- Files that cannot be opened at all are reported as such.
- Encrypted archives block content checks without a password.
- Large archives take longer; the check decompresses everything.
- Redetect an extension mismatch: format detection always uses file data, not the file name.
