What This Tool Does

This tool tests archives across many formats by reading every entry they contain. It decompresses each entry, notes which ones open cleanly, and reports any that cannot be read. You get a per-archive verdict plus a list of the damaged entries.

Supported formats include ZIP, 7Z, RAR, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, CAB and ISO. Testing is server-side, so the archive is never executed and nothing is written to your device.

What the Report Shows

  • A healthy or faulty verdict for the archive.
  • Read and failed entry counts.
  • The names of any entries that failed to read.
  • The detected format of the uploaded file.

Step by Step

  1. 1

Upload an archive in any supported format.

  2. 2

    Click Test Archive.

  3. 3

Wait for every entry to be read.

  4. 4

Read the verdict and the failure list.

How Testing Works

The archive format is detected from the file data, then the matching engine reads the archive with an integrity flag. Entries that fail are collected by name, and the overall verdict is passed only when every entry reads cleanly. No fake healthy results are ever produced.

Troubleshooting

  • Unsupported formats are rejected with a clear message.
  • Encrypted entries cannot be content-tested without the password.
  • Large archives take longer because every entry is decompressed.
  • For damaged files use the repair tool next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which formats can be tested?
ZIP, 7Z, RAR, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, CAB, ISO, JAR, WAR and EAR are supported.
What does a failed entry mean?
That entry could not be decompressed from the archive, which usually signals damage during creation or transfer.
Does the tool execute anything?
No. Archives are only read and decompressed for verification.
Is my archive stored?
It is held temporarily on the server and removed after the test.
Can testing find every kind of problem?
It finds unreadable entries, which covers most corruption. Header-only issues can be missed because they affect the listing.
