What This Tool Does
This tool reports the properties of an archive: the detected format, entry count, stored and unpacked sizes, and read-level statistics across a wide range of archive types.
The information comes from reading the archive itself, not from guessing by the file name, which makes it a reliable first step before you repair, convert or extract.
What the Report Shows
- Detected archive format.
- Total file and folder counts.
- Total stored (compressed) and unpacked sizes.
- An estimation of how the content's size relates to the archive.
Step by Step
- 1
Upload the archive.
- 2
Click Get Archive Info.
- 3
Read the properties report.
How It Works
The archive engine lists the archive with a detailed flag, reading the directory so entries and sizes can be totalled. All numbers are measured from actual archive data.
Troubleshooting
- Format is always detected from file data, so odd extensions are still recognized.
- Damaged archives may fail listing; repair first (repair tool) and then rerun.
- Encrypted archives may still report counts; content verification is a separate step.
