What This Tool Does
This tool converts a DEB package into a ZIP archive. DEB files are the package format used by Debian-based Linux distributions, and this converter extracts the package data with a real archive engine and repacks it into ZIP.
The result gives you the installed files in accessible form, which is easy to browse, back up, or move to machines that cannot install DEB packages.
How It Works
The DEB is opened and its data archive is extracted entry by entry. Every extracted file is then zipped into a fresh ZIP archive, which is opened again to confirm before download.
Step by Step
- 1
Upload the DEB package.
- 2
Click Convert to ZIP.
- 3
Wait for extraction and repacking.
- 4
Download your ZIP.
Compatibility
- Standard Debian/Ubuntu DEB packages are supported.
- The extracted layout is preserved inside the ZIP.
- Output is a standard ZIP readable everywhere.
Troubleshooting
- Corrupt packages fail explicitly with a report of the problem.
- Packages that fail structure checks are never converted into partial output.
- The ZIP is a content archive, not an installable package.
