What This Tool Does
This tool converts a JAR file into a ZIP file. A JAR is a ZIP under the hood, so every entry is read and copied into a normal ZIP exactly as it was, preserving the file bytes and the folder layout.
The result downloads as plain ZIP. It no longer carries a manifest that identifies it as a JAR, so it is content for browsing and reuse rather than a runnable application bundle.
How It Works
Each entry inside the JAR is copied one by one into a brand-new ZIP archive. The output is reopened and its entry count is compared with the input before the download link is shown.
Step by Step
- 1
Upload the JAR file.
- 2
Click Convert to ZIP.
- 3
Wait for the entries to be copied.
- 4
Download your ZIP.
Compatibility
- Regular JARs (classes, resources, manifests) are handled entry by entry.
- The output is a standard ZIP readable everywhere.
- Duplicate entry names inside the JAR are preserved with suffixes.
Troubleshooting
- Files that are not real ZIP/JAR structures are rejected.
- The converted ZIP is for content access, not for running as an application.
- Signature files are copied too, but a rebuilt archive is not a signed JAR.
