What This Tool Does
This tool converts an EAR file into a ZIP file. An EAR is the enterprise ZIP-based archive that wraps WAR and JAR modules, and this converter reads every entry and writes a plain ZIP containing the same content.
You can then browse the contained modules directly. The result is an ordinary archive, not a deployable enterprise bundle.
How It Works
Each entry of the EAR is copied byte for byte into a new ZIP. The output is reopened to confirm the entries are present, then the download link is shown.
Step by Step
- 1
Upload the EAR file.
- 2
Click Convert to ZIP.
- 3
Wait for the copy pass.
- 4
Download your ZIP.
Compatibility
- Nested WAR and JAR inside the EAR are preserved as nested ZIP entries.
- META-INF descriptors are carried over intact.
- Output is a standard ZIP readable everywhere.
Troubleshooting
- Non-ZIP structured files are rejected before conversion.
- The ZIP is for content access and cannot be redeployed as an EAR.
- Nested modules stay nested; nothing is flattened or joined.
